Visiting with disabilities

Wildegg Castle is only partially barrier-free due to the historical nature of its buildings. We are happy to assist people with disabilities during their visit.

Getting here

Visitors with reduced mobility may drive up to the castle gate. However, no parking spaces are available here. We kindly ask you to park your vehicle in the general car park afterwards.

Bus lines 380 and 381 run between Wildegg railway station and Wildegg Castle ("Möriken AG, Schloss Wildegg" stop). The ascent from the bus stop at Wildegg Castle to the castle grounds is possible with a wheelchair (slight gradient).

Access to the castle

Due to the historical nature of the buildings, parts of the complex and larger exhibition areas can only be reached via stairs without a stair lift.

The yard is gravelled but wheelchair accessible.

The baroque kitchen garden and pleasure garden is only partially accessible to people with limited mobility due to the steps. However, it is possible to drive to the lower entrance of the garden by car.

  • Wheelchair users: Only the exhibition space of the ancestral portrait gallery at the reception is accessible to wheelchair users.
  • Blind and visually impaired: The exhibition is not suitable for blind and visually impaired visitors. There is no Braille labelling.
  • Hearing impaired: The exhibition does not have an induction loop system.
  • People with intellectual disabilities: There are no labels in simple language.
