Arrival by public transport and car

The Vindonissa Legionary Trail is well served by public transport. For events especially, we recommend travelling by train and bus.

  • From Brugg railway station, take bus lines 364 and 366 (towards Birr railway station, "Windisch, Gemeindehaus" stop) or lines 361, 362, 363 (towards Mellingen Heitersberg, "Windisch Zentrum" stop) to the Legionary Trail (Königsfelden Abbey barn / Legionary Trail visitor centre). The journey time is 2–3 minutes.
  • You can also reach the visitor centre on foot from Brugg station. The route from the station is signposted. The walk takes about 15 minutes.

To the SBB timetable

The Vindonissa Legionary Trail can be reached via the A3 motorway (Brugg exit). From here the expressway leads to Windisch (approx. 10 minutes).

Parking

Paid parking spaces are available at the Campus car park near Bahnhofstrasse. From there it is about 10 minutes to the Vindonissa Legionary Trail.

There are no official parking spaces for people with reduced mobility on the Legionary Trail site. People with reduced mobility can park on the premises of Königsfelden Psychiatric Services.

From there it is a 4-minute walk to the Legionary Trail visitor centre (Königsfelden Abbey barn). The path is level.

Two coach parking spaces are available on the premises of Königsfelden Psychiatric Services (at the Villa Rägebogen day-care centre). They are located directly adjacent to the Legionary Trail (visitor centre / Abbey barn).

Groups are recommended to inform the Museum Aargau advice & sales team when arriving by coach so that parking can be guaranteed.
