Hallwyl Castle is only partially barrier-free due to the historical nature of its buildings. We are happy to assist people with disabilities during their visit.

Getting here

Parking spaces for visitors with reduced mobility are available directly adjacent to the castle. There is also a disabled parking space in the general car park.

Hallwyl Castle is located 200 metres from the "Seengen, Hallwyl Castle" bus stop and is accessible by wheelchair. The bus stop is served by bus 395 every hour from Lenzburg railway station. The direct journey takes about 30 minutes. Travel by public transport is also possible by bus via Boniswil station.

Access to the castle

Due to the historical nature of the building, parts of the complex and larger exhibition areas can only be reached via steps.

The inner courtyard and bistro area are gravelled but accessible for wheelchair users.

  • Wheelchair users: Only the courtyard and bistro, part of the mill and the garden with the mill wheel are accessible to wheelchair users.
  • Blind and visually impaired: The exhibition is not suitable for blind and visually impaired visitors. There is no Braille labelling.
  • Hearing impaired: The exhibition does not have an induction loop system.
  • People with intellectual disabilities: There are no labels in simple language.
